II. Dividing into groups

Teacher divides students into three groups : cloud, sun, snow. The students get into groups according to their objects.


I’ll give evaluation papers to each group. If they answer or do the instruction they will be given one star to glue their papers.

V.Singing “How’s the weather?”  Look at the pictures and say what the theme of our lesson is.
– Let’s read together. Can you read? I can’t. 
– Put the letters in the correct order.

 Now look at the blackboard and tell me the aims of our lesson.

 Look at the blackboard and repeat some words which you need to use to answer the question “What’s the weather like today?” (видеосюжет  It’s hot / It’s sunny …)
– Listen to the song “What’s the weather like today?” and sing, joining in with the actions. (видеосюжет)
– Look at the blackboard, listen and say. «What’s the weather like today?» (видеосюжет)
– Now look at the window and tell me What the weather is like  in Magadan now.

Singing along to the song and then practising showing weather visuals.

Sing along to song animation two or three times and then see if What is this poem about?

P. About seasons.

T. You are right it is about seasons. And the theme of our lesson is “Seasons and Weather”. But what should we do to learn to speak about seasons and the weather? What tasks do we have to do? Circle the odd word out

III. Introducing with new words. Chorus drilling

IV.Demonstration

Teacher demonstrates and drills different weather adjectives:

hot, cold, rainy, cloudy, sunny, windy, snowy

Using the weather symbols to demonstrate words.


V.Singing “How’s the weather?”

Singing along to the song and then practising showing weather visuals.

Sing along to song animation two or three times and then see if learners can sing song with just the music.

VI.Listening. Task 2.

1. Pre-listening.

Teacher shows some flash cards to predict the theme.

2. While -listening: Watch a video “The weather”

3. Post- listening. Match the pictures with the word the teacher reads. Say about the weather.
Example: It is cloudy.

Task 3. “Hands and heads”. Dividing into two groups. The 1st group show the pictures about the weather, the next group describe the picture. For example:

Task 5.Learners are given worksheets. Pupils draw the weather according to Teacher’s instructions.
