Languages’ Party

Extra-curricular activity for 7-9 grades

The Aims of the Concert:

1. Еducational aims:

- to enrich pupils’ worldview using different information about English and Kazakh

languages;

- to form the desire to acquire foreign languages;

- to teach pupils to speak English correctly and confidently;

2. Developing aims:

- to reveal and develop pupils’ talents using scenes from famous Kazakh novels and

fragments from fairy – tails , songs and poems ;

- to develop speaking skills and critical thinking.

3. Bringing – up aims:

- to bring - up the sense of patriotism;

- to bring - up the sense of respect to mother tongue;

- to bring - up the ethics of conversation and behavior.

Visual Aids: posters with proverbs and sayings about language and knowledge, balls, pictures, books, flowers.

The course of the concert:

1- Жүргізуші : Сәлеметсіздер ме, осы мектептің , осы қаланың тұрғындары! Бәріміз осы жерде дүниеге келіп , бәріміз де осы таңғажайып Қазақстан мемлекетінде тұрамыз және әр алуан тілде сөйлейміз. Оның себебі, Қазақстан көп ұлтты мемлекет. Сондықтан бүгінгі біздің кешіміз тілдер мерекесіне арналады.

2 -Жүргізуші : Hello, inhabitants of this school and this town! The Inhabitants of widespread Kazakhstan ! We were born and live in this beautiful country but speak in the different languages. And all therefore that Kazakhstan is the multinational state. Today’s concert is dedicated to the day of languages.

1- Жүргізуші: Туған тілім – тірлігімнің айғағы,

Тілім барда айтылады сыр ойдағы.

Өссе тілім мен де бірге өсемін,

Өшсе тілім мен де бірге өшемін (Ә.Тәжібаев)

2 - Жүргізуші: There are more than 130 nations and nationalities in Kazakhstan and all of them speak in their native languages. The politics of our republic enables them to develop their culture, traditions and their languages. But Kazakh, Russian and English languages are equal to all the inhabitants of our motherland.

1. Жүргізуші: Біздің елімізде 130-дан астам ұлт пен ұлт өкілдері тұрады, олардың барлығы дерлік өз туған тілдерінде сөйлейді. Еліміздің саясаты негізінде әрбір ұлт пен ұлыс өз мәдениетін, салт дәстүрлерін және тілдерін сақтап, дамытуда. Дегенмен, қазақ, орыс және ағылшын тілдері барлық қазақстандықтар үшін ортақ. Сол себептен бүгінгі кеш осы тілдер негізінде өткізіледі. Мерекелік кешімізді ашық деп жариялаймыз және алғашқы боп Ұлы Абайдың өлең шумақтарын тарту етеміз.

1pupil:

Сенбе жұртқа тұрса да қанша мақтап,

Әуре етеді ішінде қулық сақтап.

Өзіңе сен, өзіңді алып шығар,

Еңбегің мен ақылың екі жақтап.

Қайғы келсе қарсы тұр, құлай берме,

Қызық келсе, қызықпа, оңғаққа ерме.

Жүрегіңе сүңгі де, түбін көзде,

Сонан тапқан шын асыл, тастай көрме.

2 Pupil:

Разным людям не верь, что тебя вознесут

Ведь они коварно тебя предадут

Верь себе! И опора и Счастье твое-

Это лишь не разлучные ум и труд

Если горе придет, то спины не сгибай!
Если явится радость, достойно встречай!

Загляни в свое сердце и там в глубине,

Отыскав жемчуга, береги, не бросай!

3 pupil:

Do not belief the flatters, for they

Are certain to betray you one fine day

Trust only in yourself,

A sober mind and toil

Will happiness and weal for you purvey?

If trouble comes, stand up it, be strong.

If happiness – then welcome it with song.

Look deep into your heart , you will discover pearls,

To you alone these precious germs belong.

A1: Now the pupils of 8^th form will show you the fragment of the fairy tale

“The two lazybones and the cat”

Author: Two lazybones set off for school,

And what do friends do you think?

Instead of school that lazybones

Came to a skating ring.

They had their bags with pens and books,

Never read perhaps ,

And brought along their shiny skates

With brand new leather straps.

Suddenly the lazybones

Saw a pussy cat,

The sorriest and gloomiest

That ever chased a rat.

They asked the cat that lazybones.

Lazybone 1: ‘ Please tell us, pussy, why

You look so gloomy and so sad?”

Author: And pussy made reply.

Sorrowfully meowing

The gloomy pussy said,

Cat: “I’ll soon be one year old

I’m nice and handsome, lazybones

I’m wise and sly”, he said

“But I don’t know the alphabet,

I can’t tell A from Z”

‘There are no schools for pussycats

To learn the ABC”

How shall I learn to read and write?

Dearie, dearie me!’

“ Those who don’t know grammar

Are helpless nowadays.

Those who don’t know grammar

Suffer all their days.

You can not earn a living

Without the ABC,

You won’t have a bread and butter

No milk and jam for tea”

Lazybone 2 : “ Darling pussycat,

We’l soon be twelve years old ourselves,

But really, what of that?

You can’t imagine pussy

How hard our teacher tries

To teach us Russian grammar

Yet we are just as wise

To go to school day after day

Is really so much fuss

So mostly on the skating - ring

Is where you will find us?”

Cat : “ I’m almost one year old, you know

Me- o-me-o-my!

I’ve know a lot of girls and boys

Very much like you,

But such a pair of lazybones

I never, never knew !”

2 Жүргізуші : I’m sure that everybody knows who M. Auezov is and his novel “ Abai’s way”.

You know that Abai wanted all population of his country know many languages , to be educated. Now you all see a sketch based the novel “ Abai”

Abai : What about your studies, Magash ?

Magash: I’ve been learning Russian, ever since we left the winter place.

Abai: Is that so? But who is your teacher ?

Ulzhan: When you went to town in the spring a young Russian djigit came to Zhidebai. He asked if he could live with us and teach the children Russian language. That is why I sent him to Akshoky.

Abai: Are they doing well? Do they love this teacher ?

Aigerim: Not only Abish, but also Magash and Gulbadan are taking lesson from Russian teacher. They never missed a day, even on the way to zhailau. They love being with him and he likes them too.

Ospan: Assalamagaleykum! Are you speaking about our Russian teacher? I love him, he teaches us if it was a merry game.

Abai: Light of my eyes! I’m glad you’ve begun to learn Russian! And I’m going to send you to Russian school this year. I want you to be educated man. Oh, Allah! Let my children have the things I could not have: knowledge and all the best qualities.

Abish: I’m glad too!

Magash: Why only Abish, Father? I want to go to town to study Russian too!

Gulbadan: Me too, father! I want to study too!

Abai: I’ll take you both to town in the autumn, I’ take all of you, I promise. Well ask bata from our wise aksakals.

Aksakal:

Get to know he laws of life.

Let your soul be full of light.

One of you could be a poet,

One will take science road.

You will serve for motherland

Spreading love for all!

Айналайын дарын бол,

Сөнбейтұғын жалын бол.
