The theme: Learning English is fun

Visual aids: slides, an interactive board, pictures 
Connection of the subjects: English – Russian – Kazakh 
The aims: 1. To check pupils ‘knowledge from English, Kazakh and Russian through playing games, doing different tasks 
2. To develop pupils’ reading, speaking and thinking abilities and enlarge their vocabulary. 
3. To bring up the pupils the lovers of language of English and teach to be attentive and curiosity 

Good morning dear students, teachers and guests! We are glad to see you and we hope that you’ll enjoy today’s game. 
Welcome to our competition " Learning English is fun”! The pupils of 8th forms take part in this game. Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. We have invited a competent jury to count the points. The members of our jury are your teachers: : Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game. The game has 7contests, they are:

1. Presentation of the teams

3. Video show

4. The ABC game''

5. Stop the bus

6. Homework

7. Time

Let me introduce you with our players.

Who is the captain of the 1^st team?

The first team is called" Star”. Our motto is “Enjoy English!”.The captain of the team is...

The second team is called is "The London”. Our motto is “Better late than never!” The captain of the second team is_____
The third team is “England”. Our motto is “Learn English!” Well, we begin our game and let’s meet our participants. 

I. Our 1st level "Presentation of the teams” 
Participants tell some words about themselves, about hobbies, favorite subjects, motto. The captain of each team comes here, takes out cards. There are numbers 1 and 2,3 who take number 1, that starts our competition. 

II. Now we begin our 2 nd level "Read the poem” Are you ready?

Dear friends! Today our students make a performance in honor of great poets of Great Britain. Great Britain is a country that has made its great contribution into world’s culture. There are many world- famous names in English literature: William Shakespeare, Robert Burns, George Gordon Byron and many others.

Well, I wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful!

2nd team «London»

My motherland, she's so beautiful and bright
She gives me home, a shelter and light.
And we are proud of her history,
Full of struggles and victories.

We got this country from God as a gift,
Not just to take, but mostly to give.
Our motherland takes care of you and me,
And only here can we stay forever free.

We are proud to be her loyal kids,
She brings us up, teaches and leads
She's our life, she is our best part,
She's our soul, brain and heart.

3 rd team «England»

Isn't it fun on the London bus,

     Especially upstairs on the top?

You see things that you normally can't

     And you see in the top of the shops.

Isn't it fun on the London bus?

     Just look at the sights all around.

So many things look great from above

     But look ordinary down on the ground.
