Class organisation Checking home task with the help of the game `Hot potato` Dividing into groups by pictures of flags of two countries UK and Russia. Learning and lesson objectives are introduced. Phonetic drill ‘Tick tock’ Showing video about countries ’The most visited countries in the world’ T: So, children what about our lesson will be? S: About countries T:Ok.Right you are. What countries were shown in video? Topic-related vocabulary introduction (W): New Vocabulary: Class divides into groups consisting of 5-6 Ss and given a handout 1. Ss match the sentences with the pictures and check their answers with the slides. Tell Ss to write down unknown words in their dictionary The United States, England, Italy, Russia, England, China, Egypt, a trip, a hotel, a souvenir, go sightseeing Differentiation: Students rely on the pictures to deduce the meaning of the phrases. Teacher might ask Ss to use these words in their own sentences. Activity 1 Unscramble the words w/b p 60 ex 2 Activity 2 Ss are given texts about Big Ben and Red Square. Ss in groups read and do the exercise on handout 2. Activity 3 Ss make a poster according to the topics and present it with the group using information.
Activity 4 Working with the map. Ss find the countries and stick them on the map. Ss present their dialogues orally following the map. T assesses their performances according to the assessment criteria and provide feedback. |
