Teacher greets a learners. Teacher sets positive atmosphere by asking such ice breaking questions as What date is it today? What is the weather like today? Revision Teacher says that they finished a module “Reading for pleasure” on the previous lesson. And asks learners: What kind of stories did you read? Do you remember? Dividing Teacher divides learners into 2 groups. Teacher ask learners to take the cards. Learners who have the name of films and words which related to this topic-1 group, 2 group - the names of TV programs and words which related to this topic. New theme Brainstorming method Teacher direct learners’ attention to the ppt on the board and asks what the theme is about. And then asks learners: 1.Do you watch TV every day? 2. What kind of TV program or movie do you watch? 3.What is your favourite movie and program? 4.Have you ever seen the same movie or program more than once? If yes, name it. To present types of TV programmes Teacher plays the recording and asks learners to listen and repeat chorally / individually. And elicits which types of programmes learners enjoy by asking various learners around the class. Speaking “Snow ball” method Teacher threws the ball and asks learner to complete the phrase “ When I come home I turn on the TV and watch ….” Individual work Teacher writes the definitions of the genres on the ppt and gives learners time to find and write what genres are they. To consolidate new vocabulary (PW) Teacher draws learners’ attention to the pictures (1-6) and elicits what they show. Answer key: Picture 2 shows a music programme. Picture 3 shows an award ceremony. Picture 4 shows a sports programme. Picture 5 shows a nature programme. Picture 6 shows a fashion show. Group work The ideal TV guide for weekend Teacher explains the task and asks learners work in groups. And gives them time to create the TV guide for weekend. Teacher monitors the activity. Ad then asks groups to presents their ideal TV guide for weekend. Today I have learnt … Home work To write an essay about their favourite TV programmes or films. |
