Modern society is evolving in the era of
informatization, the use of information technology in many areas of
human activity, including education. One of the possible ways to
solve the problem of modernization of education is the rational
combination of traditional educational tools with modern
information and computer technology (ICT). ICT tools contribute to
the development of personal qualities, variability and
individualization of school education. Modern ICT provides active,
creative skills of students of the studied disciplines and allows
to present the material at a new level of quality. Their use opens
up radically new opportunities in the organization of the
educational process. A foreign language is a school subject,
depending on its specifics, in particular, the lack of a natural
language, the creation of an artificial language environment for
students provides for a more flexible and widespread use of various
textbooks. Therefore, it is not surprising that new opportunities
in foreign language teaching with multimedia tools have found a
variety of applications. Modern secondary schools traditionally use
lighting and sound equipment for teaching foreign languages. But
now new information technologies have arrived in the school:
computer, multimedia textbook. The use of these new information
technologies allows to highlight the following main points: - The
use of multimedia technologies in foreign language teaching is
aimed at significantly increasing the effectiveness of teaching,
the main purpose of which is to improve daily and professional
communication skills. (mediates both in native languages and on
the Internet, in the press, etc.); tools of new information
technologies serve as a tool for the development of knowledge and
education of students, their communicative, cognitive, creative
abilities and information culture; - The use of multimedia
textbooks allows you to create the most favorable conditions for
real communication in foreign languages in the absence of a
natural language environment. The use of multimedia technologies
plays an important role in modern methods of teaching foreign
languages. What is multimedia? Multimedia is an interactive
(dialogue) system that allows you to work simultaneously with
audio, animated computer graphics, video, static images and text.
This term refers to the simultaneous exposure of a user through
several information channels. In this case, the user is usually
given an active role. In other words, multimedia is a set of
technologies that allow a computer to enter, process, store, send,
and display (output) text, graphics, animation, and non-digitized
data types.
The word multimedia has nothing to do with
computer technology. It was first used by English singer and
performer Bob Goldstein in 1966 when he was organizing his new
show. Later, the term refers to any entertainment with different
sound and video effects, but it was not until the 1990s that the
word was defined: “multimedia is a modern computer information
technology that allows you to combine text, sound, and video in a
computer system. , graphics and animation (-) Multimedia includes
text, audio, still images, animation, video or a set of interactive
content forms. In the past, a teacher's lesson would be multimedia
if it included a teacher's story, a tape recorder, a film, slides,
and any technical aids. Today, a "multimedia" lesson is a lesson
using a multimedia textbook, computer or laptop, projector, webcam.
In the theory of education there are several areas of modern
research, in particular, the theory of multimedia teaching. Even
the informal term “education” is derived from the words “education”
- “knowledge” and “entertainment” - “entertainment”, which are used
to combine knowledge and entertainment, especially multimedia.
Regulation reflects the connection between reading and
entertainment, that is, the student focuses on the learning process
while having fun goals. These are the multimedia tools that have
the greatest impact on students. They enrich the learning process,
make learning more effective, involve most of the sensory
components of the student in the process of receiving learning
information. They have become an objective reality of our time, and
they can but cannot use the opportunities offered by the teacher to
communicate in the language of the teacher.
Along with multimedia technologies, a new
ideology of thinking came to school. In accordance with the
previously adopted teaching technology in the school, in the center
of learning technology - a teacher; there was an open competition
among students; students played a passive role in the lesson; The
essence of teaching is to impart knowledge (facts). The new model
of education that replaces it is based on the following principles:
at the center of student learning technology; learning activities
are based on cooperation; students play an active role in learning;
The essence of technology is to develop students' ability to learn
independently and communicate competently. The main group of tasks
that can be solved with the help of multimedia in English
classrooms are: support of educational work of students; ensuring
real communication with native languages; ensuring access of all
participants of the educational process to rapidly growing
information resources stored in centralized information systems;
cognitive
develop interest and motivation to learn English.
The level and duration of a multimedia lesson can vary: from a few
minutes to a full cycle. The main objectives of a multimedia lesson
are: to learn new material; introduction of new information and
expansion of students' horizons; consolidation of the past;
development of teaching skills; repetition of the read material;
practical application of acquired knowledge and skills;
generalization and systematization of knowledge. What are the main
ways to use the capabilities of modern multimedia technologies in
teaching a foreign language? For example, N. Kirgintseva mentions
the following: - the use of software products for learning a
foreign language, which are mainly offered on CDs; - use of
software developed by teachers directly in various instrumental or
visual design environments - use of Internet resources.
Availability of multimedia tools should be referred to as
e-textbooks and training simulators. There are three types of
multimedia textbooks, depending on the type of organization and
method of delivery: 1) on a CDROM with or without printing; 2) on
Internet sites, without an application for publication; 3) Working
with foreign language programs in a computer classroom, printed or
without attachments, on a CD-ROM, but with a link to some Internet
sites, helps students to overcome psychological barriers. When they
see a graphic image or pictures on a computer screen, they are more
receptive to the new model. The material presented in the program
allows you to solve the following methodological problems: )
formation of motor skills of writing the specified word 3) approval
of the visual image of the processed material. Thus, with the help
of curricula, it is possible to significantly change the methods of
managing learning activities, to purposefully manage the
competitive elements in the activities of students, to
individualize learning, which helps to improve the quality of
learning. Multimedia presentations can take place anywhere with a
computer and projector or other local playback device. The live
broadcast of the presentation can be recorded live or in advance
there. The transmission or recording of information may be stored
and transmitted on the basis of analog or electronic technologies.
It should be noted that online multimedia can be downloaded to the
user's computer or played in any form, or played directly from the
Internet using streaming technology.
