So, the theme of our lesson is “Our Dream House”. Today we are going to consolidate our lexical and grammar material. We are going to visit an ancient castle and a modern house. And you’ll present your homework project “Your dream house”.

Teacher: Well, let’s begin our lesson!

Warm-up

Teacher: Well, at first let’s play the game called “Associations”. Look at the board! Here you can see the word “House” and another words. You have to choose only those words which are connected with the word “HOUSE”. Is it clear? Yes, let’s start!

1. There is/are and There was/were

Teacher: Look at here! There are 4 sentences. Read them please and tell me what grammar material we are going to use.

Teacher: What grammar material is it? Yes, you’re right. Today we are going to consolidate our expressions “There is/are” and “There was/were”.

2. Comparing

Teacher: Look at the board! You can see the ancient castle and the modern villa and another some sentences. You have to divide these sentences in the past tense and present tense.

The journey begins!

Teacher: Let’s visit a super comfortable villa. But children, we have a problem. We don’t have keys! We can’t go to the villa without keys. They were lost in the old castle. Let’s find our keys!

1. Tour through the ancient castle

T eacher: Look at this castle. The castle was very big and beautiful. But if we want to find our keys, we hate to do some tasks in each room. Are you ready?

Let’s go in!

1.1. Throne room

Teacher: Children, now we’re in the throne – hall. Let’s do the first task.

You have to make the correct sentences.

Teacher: So, well! We have the second word – key! It’s HOUSE! We have both keys. Now we can open our door of our villa. Let’s go in!

2. Home, sweet home

Teacher: Now we’re at home! Look at this villa! It’s beautiful! There are lots of rooms here.

2.2. In the kitchen

Teacher: Well, let’s go into the kitchen. Please, divide this food in two groups:

There is a pear (a banana, an egg, bread, cheese). There are carrots (potatoes, apples, strawberries, grapes)

2.3. In the living room

Teacher: So, now we are in the living room. Your home task was to read the text “The living room” and translate it. And now check up your home task. Read these sentences and tell TRUE or FALSE are the sentences.

The living room

The living room is not very big. There is a coffee table in the middle, and a sofa next to it.

Next to the sofa there is a chest of drawers. On the chest is a big plant. Near the coffee table there is an armchair and a TV set. On the floor next to the armchair there is a lamp.

On the coffee table there is a lamp too. There is a fireplace in the living room. On the mantelpiece there are some pictures.
