6.3.2.1 ask more complex questions to get information about a growing range of general topics and some curricular topics.

6.2.5.2 understand most specific information and detail of short, supported talk on a wide range of familiar topics.

6.5.8.1 spell most high-frequency words accurately for a limited range of general topics.

Lesson objectives:

All learners will be able to:

  • identify the theme, learn vocabulary and key phrases, ask and answer questions about animals and use them as the basis for discussion.

  • transfer information from the reading passage into a mind - map "Animals".

  • offer constructive peer-feedback.

Most learners will be able to:

  • select, compile and synthesize information for an oral presentation.

Some learners will be able to:

  • respond to and discuss the presentation using interpretive,

evaluative and creative thinking skills and speak about animals in Kazakhstan

1.T. suggests looking at the pictures and say what about they are going to speak today?

T. sets the lesson objectives, letting the students know what to anticipate from the lesson.

2.In differentiation part T.uses the method “What is missing?” with flashcards.T.tells the students to close their eyes. When they do, T.takes away one of the flashcards. Then, tells the students to open their eyes. The first student to spot and say the missing flashcard wins that round.


1.Ss. look at the pictures and predict the theme of the lesson.



2.Ss. close their eyes and try to find the missing flashcard.


Aim: develop Ss critical thinking. Create team work atmosphere. Efficiency:Ss.refresh their mind before starting new theme.

1.T.uses «Match the words with pictures» method to open up the theme of the lesson. T.asks to Ss to look at the pictures at p. 33" Eye to Eye" and match the animals in the box with photos 1 - 16.








2.T. presents «Animal sounds game» to increase students’ speaking skills.

1.Ss open their books on p.33 and match the words with suitable pictures then listen to the CD and check their answers .



2.Ss. listen to the sounds, then talk about them using the key phrases in exercise 2. and identify the animals.
