It is smaller than cities like Almaty or Nur-Sultan, but it is just as important. Atyrau is located near the Caspian Sea and is famous for its oil industry. The fish from this region is considered better than in many other parts of Kazakhstan. Tourists who visit Atyrau often find the city quieter than other large cities, but they appreciate its beauty and friendly people.
