Teacher asks some questions, asks about Present Perfect Tense. 1. We use the past perfect when we need to make it clear that one action happened before another action in the past. When I arrived at Jim’s house, the party had started. (The party started before I arrived) 2. We form the past perfect with had/ hadn’t +the past participle of the main verb. I didn’t see Jane because she had gone out. 3.When we use words like before and after in the past, it is often not necessary to use the past perfect, because before and after make it clear which action happened first. The party started before I arrived. We got to the train station after the train left. 4.We ofteb use the words already and just with the past perfect – they go between had and the main verb. I didn’t go to the cinema with them because I’d already seen the film.

The main part of the lesson Teacher asks students if they can play a musical instrument. If so, how did they learn? Was it difficult to learn? If not, ask students which instrument they would like to learn. Students look at the photo story. Ask them who features in this story. Ex.:9a. Students read the photo story and answer the questions. Read through items 1-6 with students and do the first one as an example if necessary. Students answer the questions. Check answers. Students can also correct the false statements.
Ex.:10a. read the expressions aloud with the class. Ask students to try to remember who said them without looking back at the text. In pairs, students find them in the text of the photo story and discover who said them. Check answers. Students can then translate the expressions into their own language. Ex.:10b. Students read the dialogues and then complete them with the expressions from Ex/10a. Go through the first item as an example, if necessary. Check answers.
Vocabulary notebook. Encourage students to add the expressions to the Every English section in their vocabulary notebooks and, if necessary, to add translations to help them remember the meanings. Discussion box Weaker classes: Students can choose one question to discuss. Stronger classes: In pairs or small groups, students go through the questions in the box and discuss them.
