Warm up. Pair work

• Students stand in a circle and say in order as many inventions as they know. The last will be a winner.

Middle

30 minutes

Project the riddle for the learners and ask them to write the answer in their copybooks. Ask learners what transport it is. More able may share the information they know about bicycles.

Presentation

Show the PPT slide with the parts of the bicycle and ask learners to copy the words they do not know.

Learners listen to parts of the bicycle being spelt out and label a diagram. Teacher reads, repeats and spells out words for learners to copy down.

Physical training: learners listen and sing a song.

Ask learners that they are going to listen to the song and they should write the parts of the bicycle in their copy books.

Learners should label the bicycle and write them on worksheets

Leaners compare their pictures with each other.

Leaners watch the video about evolution of the bicycle

Learners view a short animated feature about the evolution of the bicycle.

Teacher demonstrates PPP about the evolution of the bicycle. Students should write the main points.

Differentiation by the level:

More able leaners: Students write the events next to the years

Low level leaners: Students match the years and events

Feedback: Teacher encourages and increases fluency, checks the process error correction
