Nowadays, the rapid development of the manufacturing industry is increasing the demand for qualified specialists who are familiar with new technologies. In particular, the effective use of machines and equipment used in industrial production, their design and improvement play an important role. In this regard, the specialty "Technological machines and equipment" taught at the Almaty Technological University is of particular importance.

The main goal of this specialty is to train highly qualified specialists who are familiar with various technological machines and equipment used in production, who can effectively use them and provide technical support. Today, any industry - be it the food industry, light industry, chemical production or mechanical engineering - cannot function without modern equipment. Therefore, the importance of this specialty is very high.

During their studies, students acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge. Theoretical subjects include basic engineering disciplines such as engineering graphics, materials science, technical mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical engineering. These disciplines develop students' technical thinking skills and teach them to solve complex problems. In addition, special subjects include the construction of technological machines, their principles of operation, and methods of their design and use.

During industrial practice, they visit factories and enterprises and get acquainted with real production processes.
