Hello, children! ! How are you?

Let’s sing a song “Good morning”. Take your seats, please!

2. Divides students.

After each task I’ll give you stickers. If your answer is the best your sticker will be red, if your answer is good I’ll give you green sticker, if your answer is not good your sticker will be yellow.

3. Revise the last lesson

Refer the pupils to the shopping list and the pictures of fruit and vegetables. Explain the activity. The pupils find and put into their basket. Then they must say what food they`ll have.

1^st group: carrots, apples, onions, milk, eggs, bananas.

2^nd group: pears, tomatoes, juice, cheese, orange.

Questions:

1. What do you have?

2. What colour is this apple?

3. How many bananas do you have?

4. Where are the eggs? Show me, please.

Listen, point and read. (Track 11 CD2). There is the world map on the board. Point to the USA, Kazakhstan and Turkey. Say the name of of each country out loud. Refer the pupils to the pictures and ask:

1. Where is he come from?

2. What is his favourite food?

3. What is your favourite fruit?

They may say their favourite fruit and vegetables.

a)Mosaic “ the fox” and “ the stork”. Pupils, today we`ll read the story about fox and the stork.

Play the CD. The pupils listen and follow along in their books. The pupils repeat, chorally or individually

Foxy fox and Elly stork were good friends. One day, Foxy told Elly, “Please come to my house for dinner tonight. I am going to make some lovely soup.” Elly was very happy and said, “Oh, thank you. I love soup. I will come to your house tonight.”

Elly came to Foxy’s house. Elly could smell the soup. “The soup smells lovely,” said Elly.

“Thank you,” said Foxy. He then served the soup in flat plates.

Foxy had his soup very quickly. Poor Elly could not drink the soup with her long bill. Foxy looked up at Elly and said, “Oh, don’t you like my soup? Well, I shall have your share also.” Poor Elly went home hungry. She was also very angry!

After a few days Elly said, “Foxy, it is my turn to invite you for dinner. Please come to my house tonight.” Foxy was very happy and went to Elly’s house. He was very hungry. “Thank you for calling me for dinner, Elly,” said Foxy.

“Thank you for coming!” said Elly. “I will bring the soup now. You must be hungry.”

“That smells really lovely,” said Foxy.

Elly brought the soup in two tall pitchers. “Please have your soup, Foxy,” said Elly. She put a pitcher of soup in front of Foxy.

Elly drank her soup very quickly. Foxy only looked at Elly and the lovely soup. His mouth could not reach the soup inside the tall pitcher! He went home very hungry and also very angry!

What is the moral of this story? We should treat others well, then we may expect to be treated well. Foxy Fox pulled a fast one on Elly! Where poor Elly was expecting to have a good dinner, Foxy serves her soup in a flat plate, not knowing or caring that she would not be able to have the soup. Later on Foxy gets the same treatment. He is served soup in a tall pitcher, which he cannot of course reach into.

Questions:

1. What colour are these fox and the stork?

2. Could the fox eat from the pitcher?

3. Could the stork eat from the flat plate?

d) Story cards

Put the story cards in random order. Ask the pupils to come and put the cards in the right order.

e) Act out the story

Assign roles and allow the pupils, in groups. Ask the groups to act out the story. They can use the story cards for help.

f) Have a discussion about the moral of the story. Tell them that though other pupil may treat us badly, we shouldn`t treat them the same way. Explain that a selfish act can often backfire. Ask pupils what kind of proverbs do they know?

Moral: Don`t make fun of others on their outward looks.

Everyone will get one`s chance to show one`s ability.
