Ex: 2 P: 50 Draw Ss’ attention to the pictures and ask what they can see (Astana, a group of people/friends who are putting rubbish in a bag on the beach and a woman who is feeding a young cow) Ask Ss questions about the texts. For example, ask Ss, What do people in Clean-Up Day in Astana do? (They collect rubbish from the streets, rivers and lakes and they plant trees and flowers.) What do people in ‘Clean Up the World’ clean? (Beaches, parks and playgrounds and towns.) What do people in ‘Friends of Animals’ give animals? (Food and water. Value link: Reinforce cooperation and fairness by discussing how people work together in Clean-Up Day and similar initiatives, linking this to Adal Azamat values of helping others and caring for the community. |
