Activity 1. Conveying the meaning of new words. Listen, point and say Stick the flashcards for the lesson on the board, demonstrate their meanings by miming and encourage Ss to guess their meanings and repeat a few times after you: Professions: chef, taxi driver, astronaut Nouns: farm, spaceship, sleeping bag, cow Verb: drive Alternatively, hold up each flashcard, say the corresponding word/phrase and repeat. For Ss with special needs: Visual aids. New words:
сhef – бас аспаз farm [fa:m] - ферма taxi driver – такси жүргізуші drive - [draiv] – көлік жүргізуші astronount – [aestrәno:t] – ғарышкер spaceship – ғарыш кемесі sleeping bag – көрпе қап cow - сиыр
Activity 2. Read the title and look at the pictures. What do the three people do? Then listen and read
Choose a few students to read the short texts aloud to practice fluency. For Ss with special needs: Teacher allows paired reading with a supportive peer or teacher.
Activity 3. Read activity 2 again and write Yes or No.
Grammar Box: The Present Simple: Negative. Plural nouns
No “-s” on the verb after don’t/doesn’t! Correct: He doesn’t cook. ❌ Wrong: He doesn’t cooks. Plural Nouns:
Most plural nouns just add “-s” or “-es”. Some change completely! Activity 5. Write the sentences in the negative
For Ss with special needs: Provide sentence frames to guide them |
