Ex:3 P:84 Ask Ss to work in pairs. Explain the task. Read out the example. Remind Ss of wh-? question words, and give them time to complete the task. Monitor the activity around the class and then ask some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class.

Pupils read the title of the text. Think of two questions you have about the police service in the UK. ANSWERS Do they have guns? Do they all wear uniforms? (Police in the United Kingdom do not carry a gun. Detectives do not wear uniforms.) Go through the Check these words box with Ss and elicit the meaning of the words/phrases.
