Good afternoon, dear teachers and pupils!

Our language is connected with our thought and sense. It’s close to the society’s life. All languages developed under influence of economic, political and geographical conditions.

We are very glad to see you today. Welcome to our competition! I would like you to guess this crossword and you will know the theme of the competition.

 “Polyglot”. Look at the word that we have got. Read it please, in chorus. Yes, you are quite right. The word is “Polyglot”.

Presenter 1: The quotation made by the President of our Republic can be a slogan or epigraph for today`s  lesson.

Kazakhstan should be famous as cultural country which uses three languages: Kazakh – official language; Russian – language of interethnic communication; English – language of global economics

Our competition consists of 5 rounds.

We must choose our jury -

There are teams from countries here`s. Kazakhstan. Great Britain. Let`s welcome them.Each team calls their names, motto, sings their songs and introduce with their emblems.

Each team`s captain answers the questions in three languages.  

1. Who is the head of Kazakhstan?

2. The source of knowledge?

3. Who studies at school?

4. The translation of all the words you can find in this book.

5. A school for higher education or professional education.

6. What is the colour of our state flag?

7. Complete the proverb “ Knowledge is………”

You will be given the sheets with adjectives. Find the antonyms and translate.

Fast, Small ,Clean ,Interesting , Expensive ,Safe ,Good ,Old ,Hot ,Difficult, Beautiful ,Strong .Three members from each team go to the blackboard and read riddles. Riddles are in three languages. Guess the riddles and name the answer in three languages.

Look at the interactive – board. Find the words and translate them into three languages. In the 2nd stage our pupils should find the missed words in the riddles and have to translate them into Kazakh and Russian. For each right answer they’ll receive of 1 point.

On the 3rd stage our participants must fill in the missing word in proverbs. Say it in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

1 – топқа: My friend’s favourite season is a winter. Меніңдосымныңсүйіктіжылмезгілі – қыс. Любимое время года моего друга – зима.

2- топқа: My favourite animal is a horse. Меніңсүйіктіжануарым – жылқы. Мое любимое животное – лошадь.

On the 5th stage «Дұрыспа? – Is it right?»

Қысқаша әңгіме оқылады. Оқушылар не түсінді оны қағаз бетіне сурет түрінде түсіреді.

On the 6th stage «Ең жақсы сөйлеушілер – The best speakers»

Тақтадағы қалташадан суреттерді алып, оны ағылшын тілінде бейнелеу.

Leader: Туған тілім – тірлігімнің айғағы,

Тілім барда айтылар сыр ой дағы.

Өссетілім, менде бірге өсемін,

Өшсетілім, менде біргеөшемін.

Leader: English is a world language. It’s the language of progressive science and technology, trade and Cultural relations, commerce and business. English is spoken by more than 350 million people. Geographically, it’s the most widespread language on earth.

Leader: Now it’s time to say results of our competition, while our juries count your scores let’s sing a song in three languages. Conclusion. Leader: It`s time to finish our game. The jury will speak about the results of the game. And we'll know who the winner is. Ойынымызды аяқтауға уақыт келді. Әділқазылар алқысына сөз береміз. Қазір біз кім жеңімпаз екенін білеміз.
