Explain the new lesson. Past simple regular and irregular verbs The Past Simple Tense is a verb tense used to describe actions or events that occurred in the past and are now finished. It is also called the Simple Past Tense. In English, regular verbs are formed by adding -ed to the base form of the verb, while irregular verbs have their own unique past tense forms. In sentences, it usually follows this structure: Subject + past verb + object. For example:
