scholarship program created by the
President of the Republic of
Kazakhstan for the purpose of
education and category
improvement. On November 5, 1993, the "Bolashak"
international scholarship was
established by the decree of the
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
N. A. Nazarbayev. This initiative is based
on the idea of helping talented young
people to get quality education abroad
in order to use their accumulated
experience for the benefit of the state in
the future. In 1994, a group of
Kazakhstani students was sent to
foreign higher educational institutions
for the first time.
