• Greet learners and ask them take their places;

• Ask learners how they are today and what day it is today, thus, revise days of the week.

• Go through the lesson objectives.

Whole class activity:

- give students a couple of minutes to revise the vocabulary on the topic “Animals”

- nominate students and elicit target vocabulary by means of showing pictures of various animals

- demonstrate a video about animals and sounds they produce in order to revise and consolidate the vocabulary

(a dog, a cat, etc.)

Activity 1.Drilling

Teacher shows a new cards with WEATHER vocabulary and pupils practice saying them.

New words:

Sunny - күнді

Rainy - жаңбырлы

Windy - желді

Cloudy - бұлтты

Snowy - қарлы

Foggy - тұманды

Hot - ыстық

Cold - суық

Activity 2. Video about weather

Activity 4. Dynamic break

Students stand up and have a dynamic break “Hockey Pockey”:

You put one hand in,

You put one hand out…

And you shake, shake, shake

Activity 5. Hand gestures

Pupils use hand gestures for the weather words:

 sunny: slowly spread your arms out

 rainy: wiggle your fingers downwards like

rain

 windy: gesture wind blowing out of your

mouth

 cloudy: make cloudy shapes with your

hands

 snowy: wiggle your fingers downwards like

snow and shiver

 foggy: close your eyes and put your hand

out in front like you are trying to feel for

something you can’t see

 hot: fan your face

 cold: shiver and wrap your arms around

your body

Activity 6. Play a snowball

Play a SNOWBALL when one person starts with a sentence and the others repeat the said sentence and add another one. To support students may have the cards holding when doing this activity.

For example: student A:It is cold.

Student B: it is cold and hot, etc.
