In t h e case o f burns o f t h e 1 s t and 2nd degree, t h e a ff e c t e d s u r f a c e should be cooled w i t h running w a t e r f o r 1 0 - 15 minutes, and t h e n c o v e re d w i t h a clean cloth. In t h e case o f burns o f t h e 3 r d and 4 t h degree, i t is nec essary t o c o v e r t h e burne d p a r t w i t h a clean w e t bandage. The longer fi r s t aid measures a r e n o t taken, t h e m o re serious t h e injury will be.
