Today, in Kazakhstan, the volume of accumulated municipal solid waste (MSW), according to expert estimates, is 25 billion tons. The total number of landfills exceeds 4 thousand, with only 307 legalized. These numbers will continue to grow if measures are not taken. One of them is the processing of solid waste, but things are not going well with it: only 5% of solid waste is recycled, while the remaining 95% is placed in landfills for storage and disposal.
