How Much Sleep Is Enough?

Sleeping sufficiently is an important component of a
healthy lifestyle.
•
An average adult needs about 7-8 hours a day.
•
Children need to sleep more, infants sleep the most.
•
The need to sleep decreases as we age.
And most importantly-it’s pleasant to sleep.
The amount of sleep you need each day will change over the
course of your life.
Although sleep needs vary from person to person, the chart
below shows general recommendations for different age
groups.
