 William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, he was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford- on-Avon. The exact date of his birth/death is unknown.  William went to a grammar school and had a good education.  When he was 18, he married a farmer's daughter, Anne Hathaway. She was 8 years older than him. Together during their marriage, they had three children. Suzanne, Hamnet and Judith.  Shakespeare has influenced the English language more than any other author in history due to the fact that he popularized and invented many words and phrases.
