Pupils go back to the text from previous lesson. Can find the sentences which verb refers ability? If you have found please, read your sentences.

1.Complete the sentences. Use the text on page 66 to help you.

2. Choose the correct words.

RULES

1.We use an infinitive with/ without to after can and could.

2. The he / she / it forms of can is can / cans.

3. The negative of can is don’t can / can/t.

4. We use can to talk about the present / past.

5. We use could to talk about the present / past.


If everything is clear. Now everybody come here we’ll play a game “Find your similar pair”. You must find your by asking question ‘What can you do?’. If you have similar interesting you will be a pair.

Now here we have pairs. Sit down with your pair. I’ll give you worksheets and you must choose the right one.

1stcard : I can swim now. I could swim when I was three. / I can swim when I was three.

2nd card: He can dance. / He cans dance.

3rd card: I can to speak English./ I can speak English.

4th card: He doesn’t can paint. / He can’t paint.

5th card: She didn’t can speak English last year. / She couldn’t speak English last year.

6th card: Henry doesn’t can swim. / Henry can’t swim.

Questions with How…..?

We use How + adjective / adverb + verb + subject: How old are you? NOTHow old you are ?

We use How many to ask about quantity and How often to ask about frequency:

How many brothers have you got?’ ‘Two’

How often do you do exercise?’ ‘Three times a week’.


4. Match 1-7 with a-g to make questions. Then ask and answer the questions with a partner. It’s a pair work. Then you must check each other’s work and evaluate it.
