Ex:1 P:22 • Ask students to open their books at page 22 and look at the photos. • Put students into pairs to answer the two questions.

Background Mandarin is a Chinese language spoken in the north of China, in and around Beijing. It is the standard literary (литературный ) language and the official form of Chinese.

Ex:4 P:22 • Give students time to read through the sentences and choose the answers. • Students can compare answers in pairs before you check answers with the class.
To watch the two videos in two languages English and Mandarin Then Ss have to catch the translation of words in Mandarin I dictate the sentence the first time , then Ss write down the first word and the last word. I dictate it again and Ss count how many words they hear - They write down the number they think they've heard. Then the teacher tells them the real number.
