Water bodies
Teacher introduces a new word combination “water
body” and posts 6 different pictures of the water bodies on the
board (lake, waterfall, pond, sea, river and ocean). Students try
to guess the meaning of the word combination. Teacher prompts and
helps if necessary.
Then teacher posts the words on the board (lake,
waterfall, pond, sea, river and ocean) and reads out each word and
students repeat in chorus and
individually.
When students finish, teacher provides correct
answers; students compare these answers with what they’ve guessed
before and then put the words into their vocabulary
books.
“Sea
creatures”
Teacher directs students’ attention to the slides
and introduces new marine animals. Then each student gets pictures
of sea creatures with names written on them as well. Teacher goes
reading through all the names for correct pronunciation and
students follow repeating for themselves.

river, in the sea, in the ocean)

in the ocean)
What color is whale? (It is
