Grammar rule Demonstrate the construction and say: This is the way how we talk about real life events. Just by remembering this construction we can build a lot of informative sentences. If we want to talk about habits and things which are generally true we use zero conditional. (If + present simple, + present simple) For example, If you heat water up to 100 C, it boils. If it rains, the ground gets wet. I DO Task 1 A) If their phone doesn`t / won`t beep, they get/will get worried. If they are/ were bored, they pick up/will pick up their mobile.
Reminder! We can also use when instead of if. When someone wants/wanted to see me, they just knock/will knock on the door. If someone wants/wanted to see me, they just knock/will knock on the door.
Let`s move on to the first conditional which we use when we talk about possible future actions/situations and their results.
For example, If it rains, I will stay at home. If I have a enough money to buy a house, I will buy a house. B) If I need/ I will need a phone in the future, I get / I will get one. If you switch/you will switch your phone off today, you don`t/won`t lose all your friends tomorrow. WE DO Additional exercise on the screen. YOU DO SPEAK UP Before we start completing the sentences so they are true for yourselves let`s divide into groups. You should take one petal of the flower which is colored on the other side. Then, you will join to the student whose color is same as yours. Are you ready? OK, now we have partners to build a dialogue. You should guess your partners behavior in a given situations or conditions. It means that you write a sentence not about yourself but about your partner. So, he or she will verify or reject the predictions of the partner. For example, Alina says about Rayana that : When I feel bored, I usually chat with my friends. But it is false suggestion about Rayana, and she says that it is not true for her and says When I feel bored, I usually read a book. Because, I love spending time wisely. And so on… Keep going! You are making great progress! Yet next task is more engaging than the other one!
GAME ON Here we need your imagination! If you were a president of the school what would like to do?! Write 5 promises to make your school better and, at the end we will vote for you and choose the One. Personally, I would write, If you vote for me, I will extend the time given to have the lunch.
Here we go! I will give you 5 minutes to complete.
