EDUCATIONAL MODEL

In the 2024–2025 academic year, Al-Farabi Kazakh National

University deepened its digital transformation, elevating the educa

tional process to a new level. The university is systematically inte

grating artificial intelligence, big data, and online learning tools into

its academic programs, forming a comprehensive digital education

model (https://farabi.university).

At the start of the academic year, KazNU’s Academic Council

presented its digitization strategy. Key topics included interactive

syllabi, recognition of informal learning, certification of profession

al competencies, and licensing for online education. Regulations

governing the educational process—such as academic policies and

final assessment procedures—were updated to include guidelines

for AI integration.

KazNU’s IT infrastructure was modernized, and the Moodle

platform was upgraded to meet current standards. This enables stu

dents and faculty to manage learning materials efficiently, automate

assignment evaluation, and personalize learning trajectories.

The Preparatory Department is actively involved in the digi

tal transformation. Faculty members developed events on “Digital

Literacy” for prospective students and trained them to use online

platforms. The department’s staff also participated in professional

development courses on digital tools and earned certifications.

Digital transformation is central to KazNU’s strategic develop

ment plan. By 2025, the university aims to transition its academic

programs into digital formats—enhancing education quality, ensur

ing academic integrity, and aligning with international standards.
