The aim of our lesson is speak, read, and write words related to the water usage, explain the water cycle and usage in English.


Listening. Water Cycle Introduction Video

The teacher tells students that they will watch a video about the water cycle.

NOTE: The teacher should have hung the water cycle pictures and words on the Presentation.

EVAPORATION - испарение

CONDENSATION - конденсация,

PRECIPITATION - осадки,

COLLECTION – сбор, скопление.

WATER CYCLE – круговорот воды

Teacher will use flash cards to explain the water cycle. Ex. Rain goes down onto the ground making rivers and the sea. The sun heats the water (in the river and the sea) and the water goes back up to the sky making new clouds.


Physical training

On the board, students see 5 words which are the stages of the water cycle and the name itself: EVAPORATION, CONDENSATION, PRECIPITATION, COLLECTION, and WATER CYCLE. Teacher reads out each word and students repeat in chorus. After, teacher asks students to write the words to the pictures basing on their guessing.

When students finish, teacher demonstrates the picture with the correct order of water cycle stages; students compare the original picture with what they’ve guessed before and then put these words into their vocabulary books.


Revision

Water cycle Mini Project. Leaners are divided into groups(2-3)

They are given posters and cards with the objects of water cycle.

Learners discuss their pictures of water

Warm Up

The teacher reviews the water cycle through pictures and words on the board. Students may also physically act out the word while one student is matching word to picture.

The teacher pre teaches the word ‘raindrop’ and draws a picture on the board.

The teacher writes two question on the board for students to answer & tells students they are going to watch a video about a raindrop:

  • What is the raindrop’s name in the video?

  • Where does the raindrop go?

Play the video and have students discuss the video by answering the questions at the end. At each stage of the story, also hold up the corresponding vocabulary word




Learners may come up and match the words to the picture.

Story Preparation

Tell students that they will write a story about the water cycle and a raindrop.

Pass out the story preparation sheets. Help students to name their raindrop and support them as they complete the sentences.

Pass out the water cycle templates. Show students that there are 6 boxes and that they match the 6 sentences on their story preparation cards.


Practice

Leaners make notes in their vocabularies or draw pictures next to the words:

Cook food, grow vegetables, wash clothes, brush teeth.
