Aims:  to introduce new theme about «Environment»

Objectives:

Educational: to teach new lexicon, to make phrases

Developing : to develop their thinking abilities and oral speech

Bring up: to bring up carefull attitude to the nature, upbringing of ecological culture

Type of the lesson: study of new material

Methods of the lesson: new lesson, question -answer, illustrative method.

Equipment: a book, interactive board, presentation, video

The procedure of the lesson

  1. Organization moment

- Good morning, pupils! I am glad to see you! Thank you, sit down.

- Who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day of the week is it today? Who is absent? What is the weather like today?

2. Phonetic drill

Listen to me first of all, then repeat after me and try to pronounce it correctly

Spring is green

Summer is bright

Autumn is yellow

And winter is white

3.Checking the home task

What was your home task? The task was to write about ourselves.  Let’s check it up!

Exercise 7 page 156. (presentation)

4. Presentation of the new lesson

The theme of the lesson is about nature . The theme of the lesson: “The Environment”. (presentation)

What does the word environment mean to you? (нарисовать на доске круг и написать внутри слово environment, учащиеся называют слова: air, water, animal, bird……)

- What problems of environment do you know?  Look at the picture. What is happening? The Environment is polluted by people. (ученики высказывают свое мнение) (presentation)

They are burning the trees.

The oil is killing birds.

The man's dumping

The factories polluted air

The man cutting the forest

- So, let’s study new words (presentation) (появляется слайд с новой лексикой и картинками. Ученикам предлагается переписать новые слова в словари. Затем учитель отрабатывает произношение слов по следующим схемам: 1. Учитель; 2. Учитель – ученики).

Exercise 3. Pair work . Match the sentences to the pictures

1. We don’t cut trees but some people

Read the text about «Environment» and translate into Russian

The world is a very beautiful place. There are beautiful mountains, wonderful rivers and large forests. But some people are destroying the environment.
In the Amazon rain forest they're cutting the large trees. They're burning the small ones. They're killing birds and the animals. They're destroying the forest because they want to change the forest into farm land.
