Listen and read
Tell students that they are going to listen about Nasa and Baikonur. Then they take turns and read the text aloud.
Task 1. Matching.
Teacher hands out posters and explain the task. There are some pictures and sentences to match.
Differentiation: «Verbal support»
Task 2. Guess the riddle. Pair work.
Teacher hands out riddles of topic related vocabulary. Tell them that they will construct the spacecraft if they finish the task first.
Differentiation: «Verbal support»
Grammar topic “Past Simple”. Presentation.
Look at this verbs:
Visit-visited
Stop-stopped
Travel-travelled
Like-liked

What can you see?
We add –ed ending to the verbs to make Past Simple.
The Simple Past is used for actions that started and finished at a specific time in the past.
Students look at the screen and determine the aim of the lesson together.
Students look at the screen and repeat the new words after the teacher.
Students listen the text about NASA and Baikonur cosmodrome
Students stick the spacecraft sentences into appropriate place and read them one by one. They work in groups.
Students guess the riddles, write the word and stick the picture.
Then the first pair completed the task first go and construct the spacecraft.
Students listen to the teacher’s explanation and repeat the verbs.
