Goal of the event:

Increase students' interest in learning languages;

Improving students' communication skills;

To foster respect for the culture of the country of the language being studied;

Develop public speaking skills;

Pinning of existing knowledge in the field of English through games;

The development of learners’ cognitive interest.

Aim of the event:

Educational – to repeat the completed training material in an informal setting with the help of games and competitions;

Communicative – to improve communication skills in English language, to bring students' speech activity closer to natural norms;

Developing - to develop oral speech, memory, attention, language skills, and the outlook of students.

Educational - to form a culture of working in a team, to cultivate friendly relations.

Equipment:

• A projector and screen;

• A computer;

• A video clip;

• Evaluation sheets for the jury;

• Certificates for awarding;

• A laptop or an interactive whiteboard for demonstrating a presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint;

• A printed handout on the number of students.

Explanation of the game:

“Jeopardy”

In this game there would be questions of 5 categories:

Clothes

Food

Jobs

Animals

Sports

If students answer the question correctly within the time limit (10 seconds), the team receives the total amount of points for that

question. If they do not answer the question correctly, the other team gets the opportunity to answer it. Play until there are no more questions. The team with the most points at the end wins the game.
