Organization moment : Greeting. Ask today’s date and day. Ask about the weather Warm-up Explain the activity. Ask students to roll the spinner and do the task. Lead – In Ask students do Ex 10 on the platform genially. While they choose answers correctly, the puzzle opens and students identify the topic of the lesson. The teacher sets the lesson objectives, letting students know what to anticipate from the lesson Teacher tells values of this month. Ex1 P:92 Teacher draw Ss' attention to the picture. Explain that an 'eatwell plate' is a summary of the main food groups and recommended portions. Elicit vocabulary for the food and drinks. Elicit which food and drinks Ss eat/drink most often. Ex: 2 P: 92 • Introduce the topic and ask them to read for a gist. Direct Ss' attention to the picture and read out the title. • Elicit Ss' guesses as to what the title means and ask them pay attention to the highlighted words in the text. New words • Show the new words on the board. Point to the items, one at a time, and say the corresponding words. The pupils repeat, chorally and/or individually. Point to each item in random order. Ex: 3 P: 92 Play the video of the text. Teacher explain the task. Ask children to play the game on the umaigra platform .
Group work Divide pupils into 3 groups • Explain the activity. Allow the pupils some time to match the pictures with the appropriate words and discuss food nutrients in groups Ask groups to come to the front of the class and act out their answers. Find out which group had the most correct answers . Ex: 5 P: 93 Give student speaking cards. Ask them to go around the class, ask and answer the questions to find someone with the same tastes. Monitor the activity. Conclusion Give a quiz on the platform genially. Explain the rule of the task. |
Learners look at the eatwell plate. Name the foods/drinks on it. ANSWERS Student’s own answer Students read the title of the text and skim it.
Pupils look at the interactive white board. Remember and recognize the main vocabulary. Students take turns and play the game. Learners make a poster about food nutrients and discuss it. Students ask different questions by using their cards and find someone with same taste. Students follow the instructions and do the quiz. |
