Teacher draw Ss' attention to the picture. Explain that an 'eatwell plate' is a summary of the main food groups and recommended portions. Elicit vocabulary for the food and drinks.

Elicit which food and drinks Ss eat/drink most often.

• Introduce the topic and ask them to read for a gist.

Direct Ss' attention to the picture and read out the title.

• Elicit Ss' guesses as to what the title means and ask them pay attention to the highlighted words in the text.
