The dombra is one of
the oldest instruments. It is two-stringed plucked instrument. The
dombra is used as accompanying solo and main instrument in the
Kazakh traditional music. It sounds slowly and softly . The sound
is produced by beating of the arm or mediator.
The domra has three
parts : body , neck and head. There are two types of dombra :
eastern and western. The national Dombra Day is celebrated in
Kazakhstan every first Sunday of July.
