Activity 1. Greeting “Hello Friend”
(Learners make a circle. In order to raise their interest and mood they greet each other. Greetings in different countries are different. F. e.: 1.”Europeans” – shake hands 2.”Japanese” – bend down 3.”Africans” – rub backs 4.”Our Kazakh people” – hug with each other) - Let’s greet each other at first as Europeans, then Japanese, Africans and at last greet as our people do – hug with each other. Learners do these activities by teacher’s command) Activity 2. Puzzles Divide into groups by the sliced pictures of a clock and a watch: the 1-st group “A Clock” and the 2-nd group “A Watch” A Clock – жарға ілінетін сағат A Watch- қол сағат Descriptor: learners -can gather the puzzles -learn the difference between a clock and a watch Activity 3. Look at the board please. Let’s watch the video What have you learnt through the video? ( Teacher explains how to say the time once more and shows the time on the clock. Learners from each group give their answers) New words and sentences: a quarter, past, to, o’clock, half past. What’s the time? What time is it? Ex. 1. Who wants to read and answer? Trip to the Gallery Find the cards of your colour Let’s do the next task. We will go to the gallery. On the walls you can see the cards. Some of them are green and some of them are red. The group ‘A Clock’ must gather red cards, the group ‘A Watch’ must gather green cards. Then come to your group. I’ll give you two minutes. Activity 5. Domino Speaking tasks (Learners of each group play the game Domino, the first pupil of each group start the speaking activity by asking a question about time, the next player answer and ask the time from the next player and so game is go on. Teacher listen their speaking)
