All learners will be able to: listen to short story and answer questions; describe people and objects, past experiences; practice vocabulary with support. Most learners will be able to: use most of the active vocabulary in the speech; answer questions with minimum support. Some learners will be able to: ask questions and answer questions with basic words, phrases and short sentences using visuals, complete most of tasks about the animals correctly with no support |

ORGANIZATIONAL MOMENT The objectives of the lesson. Warm-up For warm up teacher offered to work with PPP, with the help of PPP teacher tries to elicit the topic of the lesson |

Presentation Learners are suggested to look at PPP again and make some prediction about the story teacher elicits the usage of active vocabulary and pushes learners to develop speaking and critical thinking skills by asking guiding questions: 1) Look at the screen please, what can you see? explorer (very attentive learners), globus/world) 2) Look at this boy why is he with bags? (he travels around the world) 3) Look at the next slide what can you see? (map/ road) 4) What is it? Teacher tell the answer by her own - it is the Silk road. Now I want you to divide into two groups: take a card and see which is your group?
We have two groups: “Explorers” and “Travellers”
if you have Bag you are in group Travellers, and if you have a picture of explorer you are in group Explorers. Practice Pre reading task Teacher offered to look at the screen and watch the video. While students watch the video teacher makes pauses and asks questions. (Teacher will pronounce unfamiliar words by her own) Teacher pronounced words for less able learners; high level achievers can try to pronounce by themselves. Teacher explain the meaning of words if necessary. While reading task: Teachers asks learners to read the text by turn. Then gives cards to make up sentences from the story to each group.
Teacher gives compass emblem to those who read without mistakes and etc. After - reading task: Task 1: put the statements near T/ F ships.

True 5) They went to China to visit family. False 6) In 1298, he went to prison. True 7) The woman wrote down the stories. False 8)He became very poor. False 9) He and his wife had five children.Doesn’t say 10) Marco Polo died in 1324. Doesn’t Say Teacher asks students to check from one group to another group. Task 2: Group work: Teacher gives learners cards with pictures from the story. Teacher reads again the text and learners listen to the text and put pictures in the right order.
