Lesson objectives

All learners will be able to:

  • Recognise and name some words according to the topic;

  • Listen for gist the story about “Where is Shelly’s hat?” and understand some main points of the story;

  • Put in right order some of the pictures according to the story;

Most learners will be able to:

  • recognise and name most of the words according to the topic;

  • Listen for gist the story about “Where is Shelly’s hat?” and understand all main points of the story;

  • Put in right order almost all of the pictures according to the story;


Some learners will be able to:

  • recognise and name all of the words according to the topic;

  • Understand the story “Where is Shelly’s hat?” completely and give their own opinions;

  • Understand the text in detail to put in order the pictures appropriately;

Assessment criteria

Students will reach a goal in this class if they:

  1. Name at least 6 out of 7 words correctly

  2. Followed the instruction of the teacher immediately with support

ORGANIZATION MOMENT

Teacher greets students. Teacher asks students “How are you?” to find out their mood at the beginning of the lesson; students say “I am ok,happy….etc.” Introduce lesson objectives to the students.

CHECKING THE HOMEWORK

WARM UP: WORDS AROUND THE ROOM

Pictures are placed in different places around the room. The task for students is to find them as quickly as possible. The Ss.should guess the topic of the lesson according to those pictures.

  • What do you see in these pictures?

  • How do you think, what about today’s our new lesson?

DIVIDE INTO 2 GROUPS USING THE PICTURES OF THE WATER ANIMALS AND ANIMALS WHICH LIVE ON THE GROUND.

T: I’ll divide you into 2 groups using pictures these animals: water animals and animals which live on the ground.


T.explains his objective success with using WALT and WILF.

We are learning to listen for gist and understand main idea of the story and to learn by heart vocabulary.

For differentiation it is recommended to put leveled tasks on the table that the Ss can choose task according to their ability. Strong Ss can choose task without any cues, whereas weak Ss can choose that one where words are listed above. (Handout 4)





SELF ASSESSMENT: T. provides key answer of the task. Ss. will check and see how well they perform the task.

SS FEEDBACK: They find out their level depending on their correct answers.
