Listening /Pupils listen the theory of the lesson/
Speaking Ex 5 b. Report the questions. 1 «Can we play in here?» they asked. 2 «Are they competing in the race tonight?» he asked. 3 «Did they leave?» she asked.
Key: 1. They asked if/whether they could play in there. 2. He asked if/whether they were competing in the race that night. 3. She asked if/whether they had left.
Listening Read the examples. How do we report orders/requests?
Writing Ex 6 b. Report the following. 1. «Don’t talk during the match,» he said to us. 2. «Give me your tickets, please,» he said to us. 3. «Don’t tell her,» he said to me.
Key: 1) He told us not to talk during the match. 2) He told us to give him our tickets. 3) He told me not to tell her.
Ex 7. Read the theory. Rewrite the direct questions as indirect questions.
1. When does the race begin? Could you tell me when the race begins? 2. Are there any tickets left for the football match? 3. Can I pay for the tickets by credit card? 4. Who is the captain of the team?
