The theme of the competition: “Who knows more?”

The aim of the competition:

- to develop skills and habits in reading, writing, speaking through different exercises

- to stimulate the pupils interest, and their power of guessing and thinking in the foreign language

-to memorize and retain in memory the language material they learn.

The method of the lesson: a game

Visual aids: presentation, pictures, proverbs and riddles in three languages Kazakh, Uzbek, Russian, English

Good afternoon, dear teachers, pupils and guests! We are very glad to see you here. You are welcome to our intellectual show which is named “Who knows more?”. Today we will define the cleverest pupil and now I want to invite our participants. They are:

Now I will introduce you with the process of the game. Our game consists of 5 stages:

1. Introduce.

2. Answer a question on a free topic.

3. Word formation.

4. Grammar question.

5. Who is fast?

Now let’s begin the competition! Our first stage is students introduce themselves. Who fully represent themselves are awarded 10 points.

 Task 1.Students introduce themselves.

Task 2. At the second stage, there will be questions on free topic. Students must answer the questions. Each correct answer is awarded 10 points.

10. What is the capital of Britain? – Ottava

11. What month is it now? – March

12. What holiday is on the 22nd of March? – Nauryz

13. The antonym of the word good? – Bad

14. What colors are depicted on the British flag? – Red, blue, white.

15. What is the symbol of freedom in Kazakhstan? – Eagle.

16. How many stars are there in the American flag? – 50. 

Task 3.The next task is word formation. Now pupils you will make form words from pictures. At every correct answer you will get 10 points.

This stage will be more difficult. At this stage, grammatical questions are asked. We will think carefully and try to answer the questions correctly. At every correct answer you will get 10 points.

 Task 5. Who is fast?

We have the final stage. At this stage, you will compete in vocabulary pronunciation. Who says more vocabulary in 1 minute. Points are awarded based on the number of words.
