Organization moment :

1.Greeting.

Warm-up

Greet the class: “What’s the weather like today?”
(Elicit: It’s sunny / cold / windy.)

Show pictures of different weather conditions.
Students guess: “It’s snowy!” “It’s rainy!”

Introduce the topic: Seasons and Weather.

Presentation

Show 4 big pictures or a weather wheel for spring, summer, autumn, winter.

Teach vocabulary:
“In winter, it’s cold.”
“In summer, it’s hot.”
“In spring, it’s rainy.”
“In autumn, it’s windy.”

Model and repeat pronunciation.

Play a short “Weather Song” or chant (optional):
It’s sunny, it’s sunny, I’m happy today!

Learners sing the song enthusiastically.

Students listen attentively.

Learners brainstorm vocabulary related to school and participate in the discussion.

Students answer questions about their friends .

Teacher controles the process, gives feedback and asks additional questions if it’s nessasery.

Introduce the four seasons. Present the new vocabulary. Play the audio.

Play the audio a second time, pausing after each word.

Say and write on the board: My favourite season is winter. Point to a pupil and ask: What’s your favourite season? Encourage the pupil to answer your question. Repeat the process with the rest of the pupils.

Write their answers on the board to find out the most popular season in class.

Practise talking about seasons and birthdays.

Books closed. Draw a birthday cake on the board, point to yourself, say and write: My birthday is in spring. Then point to a pupil, say and write on the board: When’s your birthday?

Encourage the pupil to respond e.g. In (autumn).Focus the pupils’ attention on the use of the preposition in when we refer to seasons.
