The Present Continuous Tense. Are they reading ?

Objectives:

to practice the usage of Present Continuous, talking about what is happening, to develop their critical thinking, to work in a friendly atmosphere.

Results:

Pupils will learn to talk about what is happening.

Introduction.

Greeting. Organization.

I divide them into 3 groups using game Domino. They must find their group finding the English/Kazakh equivalent of the verbs.

I give the papers (flipcharts). Pupils are to present themselves to the next group using different variants of greetings and they are to draw something for it.

Group 1: Hello, my dear friends.

Group 2: Good morning³,to you

We are glad to see you.

Group 3: Good day, everybody!

Pupils will change the papers and spell the names of their classmates. They will guess the names.

Pupils read one part of the text and discuss the meaning with each other.

Pupils work in pairs. Write the answers and say orally.

I’ll give Venn diagram in order to summarize the text.

Pupils fill in Venn diagram. They describe the frog and the birds.
