The United Kingdom of Great
Britain is situated in Europe between the Atlantic Ocean and North
Sea. The UK consists of four parts. They are: England, Scotland,
Wales and Northern Ireland. The area of the UK is some 244 100
square kilometer. The population of Great Britain is over 57
million. The official language in Great Britain is
English.
London is the capital of Great
Britain. The symbol of London is Red Rose. It is one of the largest
cities in the world and the largest city in Europe. Its population
is about 8 million people. London divided into four parts: the
City, Westminster, the West End and the East
End.
The capital of Scotland is
Edinburg. The symbol of Scotland is the
thistle.
Cardiff is the capital of
Wales. The symbol of Wales is the
daffodil.
The capital of Northern
Ireland is Belfast. The symbol of the country is the
shamrock.
Elizabeth II is the Queen of
the United Kingdom. She lives in Buckingham Palace. There are many
sights in Britain.
