Lesson objectives:

  • Demonstrate comprehension by summarizing the plot elements and stylistic features of a sci-fi film they have watched.

  • Apply their understanding of the film genre by matching paragraphs to headings and selecting appropriate phrases for sentences, demonstrating the use of vocabulary in context.

  • Analyze a film review to identify and categorize the use of adjectives, passive voice, and phrases for recommending, as well as discerning the structure of a good review.

Value links:

  • Discussing a sci-fi film can introduce students to different cultural perspectives and encourage them to appreciate artistic expressions from diverse backgrounds.

  • While sharing and discussing reviews, students learn to respect different opinions and show empathy towards the perspectives of others.
