The procedure of the lesson.
I. Organization moment:
Hello, boys and girls and dear teachers! We are glad to see you today. We hope all of you will enjoy our competition and also we`ll see who will be the winner. Here are our participants. We chose 8th grade.
The rule of the competition: there will be 4 contests. In 1st contest whole class participates and who will answer the questions correctly get stars, students who couldn’t answer the questions won’t continue the competition. At the and of the competition who will get more stars can become winner.
І. Lets begin our first contest which is called "A magic 5”.
1. Name 5 sorts of
fruits
2. Name 5 wild animals
3. Name 5 sorts of vegetables
4. Name 5 parts of body
5. Name 5 domestic animals
6. Name 5 professions
7. Name 5 colours
8. Name 5 sports
9. Name 5 famous scientists
10. Name 5 words connected with Biology
ІІ. Teacher: Attention, please! The next contest is called "Hidden words”. Find, please, the animals hiding in the following sentences!
Example: In April I only came here once (Lion)
1. A rabbi taught me Hebrew (Rabbit)
2. He’ll come to America tomorrow. (Cat)
3. Do good workers succeed? (Dog)
4. If Roger comes, we’ll begin. (Frog)
5. Close the door at once! (Rat)
6. I abhor selfish people who think only of themselves.(Horse)
7. Lady was naked when she rode through the town(snake)
8. That will be a real help (Bear)
9. She came late (Camel)
10. I will sing, you hum on key (Monkey)
Each of students can get 1 star for the right answer.
III. Teacher: One more contest. It’s called " Inventions and discoveries”. You should answer my questions. The students who answer the first and correctly continue the competition.
