Level: Intermediate

Time: 1 hour

Aims: to develop pupil’s skills in speaking,

to develop their intellectual and creative skills,

to let pupils have fun in a relaxed atmosphere,

to arouse interest in learning

Materials: posters of famous singers, a greeting card, a black bag, an interactive board, a reel, cards with letters, moustache

Decorations: posters, stars, flowers, colored balls, ribbons.

Teacher enters the room and greets the teachers and pupils.

T: Good afternoon, boys and girls, and of course, our dear teachers! How are you?

P: We are fine, thank you.

T: O’k! Welcome to our magic field! Let’s begin our game. The theme is music, as you know. So, what do we know about music? What’s your favourite music? Do you like music?

The pupils express their ideas.

T: O’k, good for you! Now, let me invite our participants… Greet them, please.

The spectators greet the pupils with applause.

T: Hello, my dears. So, let’s begin. You know that the theme of our Magic field is “Music”, there are many types of music: rap, rock, country, folk, opera, jazz, pop, techno, salsa and many others. But no one is interested in the lyrics today, are they?

Nowadays boys and girls listen to the songs of B.Spears, Madonna, Mus art, Keshyou, Acon, Aikyn Tolepbergen and others. And our first task is connected with… look at the first slide, please, Madonna. So, listen to the question very attentively, please. What is the real name of Madonna? Turn the reel, please… oh, you have 300 balls, name the letter, please.

The participants name the letters and play.

T: O’k, right you are. The winner of the first tour is… Now, take your presents.

Musical pause.

The pupils of the 9^th form sing a song of one of their favourite singers. The boys and girls dance.

T: Bravo! Now let’s greet the next three pupils. Hello, how are you? Do you like music? Who is your favourite singer?

The participants answer the questions. Then they turn the reel.

Well, the sector prize, yes? Where is our black bag?

P: Well, give me my prize, please.

T: Are you sure? Don’t you want to take money? (The T. looks into the bag).

P: Oh, no, prize! I want to get the prize!

T: Don’t hurry! Think over my suggestion. So, I want to give you 1000 tenge…

P: Are you joking? No, no, thank you, it would be better if you give me the prize.

T: Well, 1500 tenge…

P: Prize, prize, give it to me.

T: Well, I’ve asked you to take money, but… Good, your prize is… this egg. Take it, please.

P: Oh, thanks a lot. (The T. and pupils smile)

T: So, let’s continue our game. The task of this tour is… look at the next slide, please. Do you know the Kazakhstani singer Kairat Nurtas? As I have heard he is a good singer, isn’t he? Yes, of course! Well, the question is the following: When is his birthday? I mean, will you name the month? Turn the reel and name the letter, please.

P:Letter “C”.

T: Splendid! Open the letter “C”, please…

The right answer is DECEMBER.

T: Very good! Take your presents! Well, now, I am going to play with the auditorium.

The spectators say: “Yes, that is a good idea! Let’s start!”

T: So, I need 3 pairs: 3 girls and 3 boys… Come up to me. Take these cards with texts. You must try to sing the given text as an opera, rap and rock. Clear? So, begin...

Super! Presents! The T. gives medals –“THE BEST OPERA SINGER”, “THE BEST RAPER”, “THE BEST ROCKER”.

T: Well, now, let’s greet our winners, but only one of them will play “A super game” with me. Turn the reel, please. Be attentive- What group does sing the song “Soledad”? 250 balls…

The right answer is “WESTLIFE”.

T: Bravo! Well, do you agree to play a super game with me?
